Vinyl has an additional rule that is not optional: you cannot paint vinyl a colour significantly darker than the original. Dark colours absorb heat, vinyl expands, and the panels warp, buckle, and pull out of their channels. That is permanent damage to the siding, not a paint failure. We will tell you the range you can safely go to, and if the colour you want is outside it we will say no rather than take the job and let you find out in July.
Where siding is brittle, cracked, or already warped, painting is the wrong answer and we will say so. A coating does not restore vinyl that has gone chalky and fragile with age, and spending on paint when the honest answer is replacement is not a saving.
Exterior House Painting
Exterior work is roughly seventy percent preparation. We wash the envelope to remove chalking and mildew, scrape and sand every failing edge back to sound material, and prime bare wood before any finish coat goes on.
