Who We Serve

Exterior Painting for Homes and Businesses

Whether you own a colonial on the South Shore or manage a commercial property on Cape Cod, your building's exterior faces the same punishing New England elements. We tailor every project to the property type, surface material, and level of coastal exposure.

For Homeowners

Your home is your biggest investment. Salt air, freeze-thaw cycles, and UV exposure break down exterior paint faster than you expect. We protect your clapboard, cedar shingles, trim, and siding with meticulous prep and premium coatings that stand up to coastal weather for years.

For Business Owners

A faded, peeling exterior sends the wrong message to customers. We schedule around your business operations to refresh your storefront, office, or multi-unit property with minimal disruption and maximum curb appeal.

What We Paint

Complete Exterior Painting Services for Every Surface

Our crew handles every exterior surface on your property — from full house painting to trim details, cedar shingle staining, and garage doors. Select a service below to learn what's involved and what to expect.

Full exterior house painting is our core service and what we've been doing since 1960. We paint wood clapboard, vinyl siding, aluminum siding, cement fiberboard, brick, and stucco — essentially any surface that faces the elements.

Every project begins with a full assessment of your home's condition. We check for peeling, cracking, mildew, wood rot, and failing caulk before proposing a scope of work. Preparation typically includes power washing, hand scraping of all loose paint, sanding, spot priming bare wood, caulking every seam and joint, and filling any holes or imperfections.

We use premium paints from Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore — products formulated to resist fading, cracking, and mildew in humid, salt-heavy coastal environments. Most exterior jobs receive two full coats for maximum durability and color depth.

In-House Crews Only

Our dedicated six-person crew handles every project personally. No subcontractors means consistent quality, direct communication, and the same trusted team from start to finish.

Free On-Site Estimates

Owner Marc Nelson personally walks your property to assess every detail. You receive a thorough written proposal — no vague ballpark figures, no hidden costs, no obligation.

Premium Paint Products

We use only the highest-quality paints and coatings built to withstand coastal humidity, salt air, and harsh New England winters. Better products mean longer-lasting results and fewer touch-ups.

Licensed & Fully Insured

Every crew member is covered by workers' compensation and general liability insurance. You never have to worry about exposure if something unexpected happens on your property.

65+ Years Family Owned

Your project benefits from over six decades of knowledge passed down through three generations. That kind of experience means fewer surprises, better problem-solving, and results that stand the test of time.

EPA Lead-Safe Certified

Many South Shore and Cape Cod homes were built before 1978 and may contain lead paint. Our EPA-certified crews follow strict protocols to keep your family safe during renovation work.

How It Works

Our Exterior Painting Process from Estimate to Final Walkthrough

Every exterior painting project follows the same proven process we've refined over three generations. Here's what to expect from the moment you reach out to the final walkthrough.

1

Marc Nelson personally walks your property to assess every surface — siding condition, trim and fascia, window glazing, areas of rot or damage, and the state of existing paint. We check for lead paint on pre-1978 homes and note any carpentry repairs needed before painting can begin. You'll receive a detailed written estimate within a few days, broken down by scope of work so you know exactly what you're paying for. No pressure, no obligation.

2

Once you approve the estimate, we help you finalize your color choices. We can apply test patches on your home's actual siding so you see how colors look in your lighting conditions — colors shift dramatically between a small swatch and a full wall in direct sunlight. We'll also recommend the right product for each surface: acrylic latex for clapboard and trim, solid or semi-solid stain for cedar shingles, and specialty primers where needed.

3

This is the most critical phase and where we invest the most time. Our crew power washes the entire exterior to remove dirt, mildew, salt residue, and chalking paint. Then we hand scrape every square inch of loose or peeling paint, sand those areas smooth, and feather the edges for a seamless finish. All seams, joints, and gaps are caulked to prevent water infiltration. Rotted boards, shingles, and trim are replaced. Nail holes and surface imperfections are filled and sanded. On pre-1978 homes, all scraping follows EPA Lead-Safe containment procedures. Preparation typically takes 2-4 days depending on your home's size and condition.

4

Every area of bare wood, new carpentry, or patched filler receives a coat of high-quality exterior primer matched to the substrate. Wood gets oil-based or acrylic primer depending on the species and condition. New caulk and filler are primed to ensure topcoat adhesion. On homes with significant peeling, we may prime the entire house for the most uniform and long-lasting result. Primer must cure fully before topcoat application — we never rush this step.

5

With preparation and priming complete, we apply two full coats of premium exterior paint using a combination of brush, roller, and spray techniques matched to each surface. Siding gets rolled or sprayed for even coverage. Trim, windows, and detail work are brushed by hand for precision. We paint in optimal weather conditions — dry days between 50 and 85 degrees — and allow proper dry time between coats. Most homes take 3-5 days for the painting phase depending on size and complexity.

6

We remove all drop cloths, plastic sheeting, tape, and masking from windows, doors, and landscaping. Paint cans, scraping debris, and any lead-safe containment materials are disposed of properly. Your walkways, driveways, decks, and garden beds are left clean — we treat your property the way we'd treat our own homes.

7

Marc walks the entire property with you to inspect every surface. We check paint coverage, trim detail, caulk lines, and touch up anything that doesn't meet our standards — or yours. We point out any areas to monitor over time and provide maintenance recommendations specific to your home's exposure and materials. The job isn't done until you're satisfied.

Frequently Asked Questions About Exterior Painting

Get answers to the questions homeowners ask most about exterior painting in Southeastern Massachusetts. If you don't see your question here, give us a call — we're happy to help.

General Questions

The best window for exterior painting in New England is late April through October, when daytime temperatures consistently stay between 50 and 85 degrees and humidity is manageable. Late spring and early fall often provide the most ideal conditions — warm enough for proper paint adhesion and curing, but not so hot that paint dries too quickly. We schedule our exterior season accordingly, so booking early in the spring ensures you get your preferred timeframe.
