Truro's 1,009 housing units are 84.2% owner-occupied and scattered across the emptiest ground on the Cape, many of them seasonal, many of them well away from a paved road, and almost all of them exposed.

What’s Included

Working on an Isolated Property
A job at the end of a sand road is a different proposition from a job on a street, and it is worth being direct about why rather than folding it silently into a price.
Access is the first question and it is not rhetorical. Sand and unpaved roads are genuinely difficult for a loaded vehicle, particularly in spring when the ground is soft and after weather. We look at the drive before we look at the house, and where a truck cannot reasonably get to the building we plan for material and equipment to be carried the last stretch. That is time, it is a real cost, and we would rather price it accurately than discover it.
Water and power are the second. On a street, both are simply there. On a remote Truro property the house may be closed with the water off and the power at the meter, and washing an exterior needs a genuine volume of water. We establish before the job what is available, and where it is not we bring it, which again is a cost rather than a surprise.
Waste is the third and the one people forget. Everything we generate leaves with us, including wash debris and containment waste from a pre-1978 property. On protected ground and in a fragile landscape that is not a formality, and there is nowhere convenient to put anything.
The consequence of all this is that a Truro job wants to be planned as one visit doing everything rather than three visits doing pieces. Seasonal & Closed Property Care

That means damage goes undiscovered for a long time. A wind-driven failure in November is a small repair in November and a large one in May, and the difference is simply whether anybody knew.

A wash at closing is worth as much as one at opening, because salt and sand left on a coating through the winter do the most damage of the year.
Carpentry & Wood Repair
Paint does not fix rot, and out here rot and abrasion arrive together. When we find soft trim, failing sills, damaged shingle, or wood abraded past the point of holding a finish, we repair or replace it before painting.
