Who We Paint For

Interior Painting for Homes and Businesses Across the South Shore

Whether you need a single room refreshed or an entire commercial building repainted, our three-generation team brings the same meticulous preparation and premium materials to every interior project.

For Homeowners

Your home should reflect your style and feel welcoming in every room. We understand that living through a painting project can be stressful. Our crews work clean, stay on schedule, and treat your home like our own — because our reputation depends on it.

For Property Managers

Tenant turnover, hallway wear, and dated lobbies all affect your bottom line. We work around your schedule to minimize disruption in occupied buildings while delivering a fresh, professional finish that attracts and retains quality tenants.

Complete Interior Solutions

Every Surface, Every Room, Every Detail Handled Right

Interior painting is more than rolling walls. From detailed trim work to ceiling refinishing to cabinet painting, we handle every surface in your home or business with specialized techniques and premium products.

Wall and ceiling painting is the core of most interior projects, and the quality of the result depends almost entirely on what happens before the brush touches the surface. Our crews spend 60-70% of every project on preparation — patching nail holes, filling cracks, sanding rough spots, caulking gaps, and priming stains. This is the step most painters rush through. We don't.

We use premium Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams paints in the sheen best suited to your space — flat for ceilings that hide imperfections, eggshell or satin for living areas that balance beauty and washability, and semi-gloss for kitchens and bathrooms that need moisture resistance. Every wall receives two full coats for consistent color and lasting coverage.

High ceilings, cathedral ceilings, and stairwells require specialized equipment and safety protocols. Our crews are experienced with ladders, scaffolding, and extension poles to reach every surface safely and deliver clean, even coverage overhead.

Premium Paint Products

We use only the highest-quality paints and coatings built to withstand coastal humidity, salt air, and harsh New England winters. Better products mean longer-lasting results and fewer touch-ups.

Licensed & Fully Insured

Every crew member is covered by workers' compensation and general liability insurance. You never have to worry about exposure if something unexpected happens on your property.

65+ Years Family Owned

Your project benefits from over six decades of knowledge passed down through three generations. That kind of experience means fewer surprises, better problem-solving, and results that stand the test of time.

EPA Lead-Safe Certified

Many South Shore and Cape Cod homes were built before 1978 and may contain lead paint. Our EPA-certified crews follow strict protocols to keep your family safe during renovation work.

From First Call to Final Walkthrough

How Our Interior Painting Process Works From Start to Finish

We know hiring a painter can feel uncertain. Here is exactly what happens at each stage so there are no surprises, just results you can see.

1

It starts with a call to Nicole or Marc. We schedule a walk-through at your convenience where Marc Nelson personally assesses the scope of work. He will examine every surface, discuss your goals and color preferences, note any repairs needed, and answer your questions on the spot.

Within 24 hours of the walk-through, you will receive a detailed written proposal with an itemized breakdown of what is included — no hidden fees, no vague line items. The estimate is valid for 30 days and comes with no obligation.

2

Once you approve the proposal, we help you finalize colors and finishes. If you already know what you want, great. If you need guidance, we draw on 65 years of experience to recommend colors and sheens that work for your lighting, room function, and personal style.

We will advise on the right sheen for each surface — flat for ceilings, eggshell or satin for walls, semi-gloss for trim and high-traffic areas. We also coordinate scheduling to fit your household routine, including working around kids, pets, and remote work situations.

3

This is where Nelson Painting earns its reputation. Our crews spend 60-70% of every project on preparation because this step determines how long the finished paint job lasts. We patch holes, fill cracks, sand rough areas, caulk gaps, scrape loose paint, and prime stains and bare surfaces.

Before any paint is opened, we protect your furniture, floors, and fixtures with drop cloths and precision masking. Hardware is removed from doors, switch plates come off walls, and every edge is taped for clean lines. This prep work is the foundation of a lasting result.

4

Our in-house crews — the same people who prepped your surfaces — handle the painting. Ceilings go first, then trim, then walls. This sequence prevents drips and lap marks. Every surface receives a minimum of two coats of premium paint for full coverage and uniform color.

A typical bedroom takes 1-2 days. A full-house interior takes 3-7 days depending on square footage, number of rooms, and complexity. We keep you informed of progress daily and stick to the timeline in your proposal.

5

Our cleanup is as thorough as our prep. All tape, paper, and plastic is removed. Drop cloths are folded and carried out. Switch plates and hardware go back on. Furniture returns to its position. We leave your home cleaner than we found it.

We do not leave behind paint cans, brushes, or supplies. Any leftover paint is labeled with the color name, room, and date for your future touch-up needs.

6

Before we consider the project complete, we walk every room with you. We check edges, coverage, and consistency together under different lighting. If you spot anything that needs attention, we address it right then — not on a callback three weeks later.

We stand behind our work. If you notice any issues after we leave, call us and we will come back to make it right. That commitment to quality is how we have maintained our reputation across three generations and 65 years of painting in Southeastern Massachusetts.
